😆 Today’s Laugh
According to Dr. Robert Beard, here are 100 of the funniest words in English. Some of my favorites are:
Absquatulate: To leave or abscond with something.
Argle-bargle: A loud row or quarrel.
Fard: Face-paint, makeup.
Gazump: To buy something already promised to someone else.
Mugwump: An independent politician who does not follow any party.
Skullduggery: No good, underhanded dealing.
Snollygoster: A person who can't be trusted.
💭 Today’s Thought
Today, I’m celebrating the 100th issue of this newsletter! 🎉
Whether you’ve been here from Issue #1, or Issue #99, I am beyond grateful for your readership and companionship on this journey.
And I’d like to take a deliberate pause in today’s newsletter, using the 100th issue as a chance to take stock of what’s working and get your ideas for things to change.
I’ve created an anonymous form with 3 questions — could you spare a few minutes to share your experience reading The New Crop? 🙏
As you can imagine, getting regular feedback on this newsletter is quite challenging. So I will thoroughly read and soak up all of the insights you share!
Click the button below to let me know 1 thing you’re taking away from reading The New Crop, 1 thing you’d like to be different, and 1 thing you’re currently feeling challenged by.
Thank you!!
P.S. If there’s something in your life you’ve been pondering doing, but haven’t started because you’re not sure how, whether people will like it, or what the final destination even is… my encouragement after 100 issues of The New Crop is this: do it anyway, and the path will become clearer once you start.
🖊️ Today’s Reflection
If you’re new to journaling, I highly encourage you to read Nancy Adler’s article: Want to be an outstanding leader? Keep a journal.
This week, find a quiet place and gift yourself 10 minutes to reflect on any of these prompts (or invent your own!):
What’s one thing you can celebrate today? This week?
What beliefs do you hold around the concept of celebration? How did those beliefs form, and how do they influence you now?

10 Things To Do In The Evening Instead Of Watching Netflix
Don’t get me wrong, I like my Netflix shows or The Real Housewives as much as the next person. But if you’d like to vary your nighttime activities or entertainment, pick some of these ideas to try out. I can personally attest to the power of one of these ideas: reading fiction. 📚 Check it out!
See you next week!
