Next week is the last week of school for my three kiddos before summer vacation, and it’s safe to say we’re in survival mode. 🫠 Feeling ALL of these:
💭 Today’s Thought
Recently, I’ve been reflecting on one simple but powerful practice — one that builds long-lasting relationships rooted in trust.
I call it The Integrity Habit:
Do what you say you’ll do, when you say you’ll do it.
It sounds like common sense, but in practice, it’s surprisingly rare. And in a world filled with chaos, loneliness, and uncertainty, this kind of follow-through is more than just a “nice-to-have” — it’s a foundation for connection.
This week, I invite you to lean into the Integrity Habit.
Do what you said you’d do, when you said you’d do it. And if you can’t? Let anyone relying on you know, ask for help, and/or re-negotiate your commitment.
Bonus: practicing integrity in this way helps you trust yourself more deeply, just as much as it helps others trust you.
🖊️ Today’s Reflection
If you’re new to journaling, I highly encourage you to read Nancy Adler’s article: Want to be an outstanding leader? Keep a journal.
This week, find a quiet place and gift yourself 10 minutes to reflect on any of these prompts (or invent your own!):
What percent of your commitments do you follow through on?
What’s a significant time when someone didn’t follow through on their commitment to you, and what was the impact?
When do you find it hard to follow through on your commitments? What would help you in these moments?
