💭 Thought: Who gets to be an Artist?
💭 Today’s Thought
This week in a coaching session, one of my clients used the word artist to describe me.
It was a curious choice of words, especially considering that artistic was something I spent most of my childhood convincing myself I wasn’t.
So, I headed to the dictionary.
Of course, there’s the expected definition—“someone who draws or paints”—but there’s also this one:
“Someone who creates things with great skill and imagination.”
And just like that, the word artist offered me a different way to see myself.
Maybe everyone is some kind of artist.
I’m still sitting with the kind of art I create and the kind of artist I might be. Sharing these reflections in case you want to think through this along with me 😊 :
How are you an artist? What kind of art do you make?
What’s something you once told yourself you weren’t, that might be worth revisiting?

The Secret of Life is Getting Today Right
Begin at once to live, and count each separate day as a separate life.

As an alternative to long-term planning, consider this perspective from Thomas Oppong: “When you get today right repeatedly, you move in a direction. You might not know exactly where you’ll end up, but you’re definitely not staying still.” Click here to read more. »
