I know this photo is old and apologies if you’ve already seen it. But it makes me smile every time. :)
💭 Today’s Thought
I coach many high-achieving women who often find themselves in an place of constant striving, constant doing, and constant proving.
There are two distinct flavors of thoughts behind this pattern (with nuances, of course!).
The first is energizing and comes from a place of curiosity: I wonder what else I can do if I put my mind to it?
The second is energy draining and comes from a place of judgement: I’m not worthy unless I’m achieving.
If you often feel the pull towards constant striving, spend some time this week noticing when it shows up and interrogating the thoughts behind it. Are they coming from a place of trust and curiosity or from a place of fear and judgement?
And in case you need to hear this today…
You have nothing to prove.
You are already worthy.
🖊️ Today’s Reflection
If you’re new to journaling, I highly encourage you to read Nancy Adler’s article: Want to be an outstanding leader? Keep a journal.
This week, find a quiet place and gift yourself 10 minutes to reflect on any of these prompts (or invent your own!):
Where are you too hard on yourself?
What’s worth doing, even if you fail?
